Basic Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician – Basic, Emergency Telecommunicator
The primary focus of the Emergency Medical Responder is to initiate immediate lifesaving care to critical patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide lifesaving interventions while awaiting additional EMS response and to assist higher level personnel at the scene and during transport
In many communities, Emergency Medical Responders provide a mechanism to increase the likelihood that trained personnel and lifesaving equipment can be rapidly deployed to serious emergencies. In all cases, Emergency Medical Responders are part of a tiered response system. Emergency Medical Responders work alongside other EMS and health care professionals as an integral part of the emergency care team.
The Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) Course focuses on addressing the learning requirements among entry level pre-hospital emergency care provider. The course is designed to provide multifaceted learning activities ranging from didactic sessions to practical field work through on-the-job training. For an aspiring entry level pre-hospital emergency care provider, the training provides theoretical foundations of EMT-B practice as well as the practical skills needed for the individual to provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an emergency medical service (EMS) unit.
HCAI in partnership with Pilipinas911 offers Emergency Telecommunicator Course (ETC) under the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).
The ETC is a 40-hour course designed to introduce participants to the exciting and challenging field of Emergency Telecommunication.
The IAED is the world’s largest independent public safety-related certification organization with currently 51,000 certified members throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and 20 other countries around the world.
Pilipinas911 is a privately-owned and operated emergency dispatch service. It is currently the only entity certified and accredited by the IAED for the medical protocols. Pilipinas911 also has the only certified ETC Instructor in the Philippines.
